24A kiss esc overview

It's my first kiss esc on my desk, I used blheli esc until this time.
Time for kisses :)
After testing on handmade thrust meter and yesterday flight I share my experience with these ESC.

But from the beginning. Kiss ESC 24A RE can be bought here you need be hurry beacuse they goes away fast :)



Specification:


- 24A continuous without cooling (limited overcurrent protection to 30A)
- over temp. protection by reduce power not shot down
-  Auto Timing (better than in blheli manual timing)
- 19 x 27mm  and 3,6g weight
- telemetry capability (need KISS FC)
- 32-bit ARM cortex MCU 48Mhz
- high throttle answer
- Gate drivers - fast switching FET
- 2-5S lipo ( for 5S lipo need to use capacitor)
- Oneshot42, Oneshot125 and normal PWM is automatically detected

At start it comes with electrostatic bags - there are ESD (Electrostatic sensitive device) need to make more carefully like others esc, they don't have shrink tube and cables (need to buy separately).

Soldering required little skill but it's not so bad. Below is presented how it need to be connected

Power Distribution

The rest available pinouts are for telemetry or for KISS Power distribution board to reduce wires and make clean build.

Rotation

If your esc rotate in other direction that you want (CW, CCW) you need only solder jumper JP1 see picture below 
Easy and don't need a programme via one wire like on blheli is. 

Installation

As we know it is a electronic device so normally need to be covered by heat shrink tube - easy and fast- can be transparent to see diode led (near JP1) 


How to callibrate?

It can be calibrate like others esc what we use. Remember when you are working with lipos and your platform remove propellers for your safety. 

1. Remove props
2. Throttle on max 
3. Now we can connect battery 
4. Wait for long acoustic signal
5. Throttle on min (esc should restart and will be short acoustic signals)
6. Disconnect lipo 
7. ESC are calibrated

When you using cleaflight you can go to motors section and so the same using switches in cleanflight configurator for motors calibrating. 

5/6S lipo users 

For users who want to use more than 4s lipo need to be solder extra capacitor Xsergo use 470uF posted here

Why Gate Drivers? 

There are better than normal nfet used in esc. The little explain was presented by rc model review about fet drag.

Summary 

For people who dont like much programming there are very good ESC with outstanding performance. I flow yesterday 3 pack of lipo (angry because don't have more yet) and was very smooth. Sound was better than on little bee. 

New release of betaflight (here) support multishot and oneshot42. As far as i know only kiss esc have oneshot42 and on dys xm series support multishot (at now).

Kiss ESC with power distribution board and KISS FC(not tested yet) are excellent totality for racing drones. 

When wheater will be stable (not frozen :)) i record some flights on kiss esc.
